Purim planning began weeks before Purim, with volunteers packaging Shaloch Manos packages, shopping, cooking, and planning.
All programs had a chance to learn and experience Purim with hands on Hamantashen baking and more...
The eve of Purim began and people just started piling in...

Parallel to the adults party was a teen program with lots of meat and snacks and games.
After the Megilla reading, the fun began!
And went on until...
The next group pulled up!
While we were having a blast at Chabad, volunteers were being dispatched to make home visits for those who couldn't make it to Synagogue. Rabbi Zelig Newman spent all Purim on the phone to coordinate volunteers and requests.

Early in the morning on Friday, visits resumed in businesses and homes and we got ready for our Minyan with full prayers, Megilla reading, and a festive breakfast with meat and wine 🍷
As things winded down from the long morning meal, we headed to the Georgian Synagogue. We had an awesome group of volunteers: a group of High School girls who came all the way from Brooklyn to staff the kids event.
The kids started walking in... and then more... and more...

Finally, the place quieted down for Megilla reading.

While this party was going on, Israel Club in Halsey was celebrating Purim too.
Finally, it was time to begin the program for preteens!
The boys and girls got to take down the ten sons of Haman, knock down a pinata, and treat themselves to tons of Purim treats! Of course with another Megilla reading.
As the sun was almost setting, and Shabbat was about to begin, the many volunteers who have been doing non stop megillah in homes, businesses, nursing homes, synagogues and more were just making it back to their homes in time for shabbat.
Little did we know, our Chabad Dispatcher was on his way to the hospital:

Shabbat was fast approaching, and that meant we needed to get home as soon as possible... And then the party resumed 🥳 with a long night Purim feast and party until late in the night...
With barely a minute to breathe, the children were greeted on Sunday morning for a not so regular Hebrew School - we joined in with the Jews in Jerusalem who were celebrating Purim with a gathering, snacks and celebration.
And on to Passover!
