 Yeshiva Placement Services

Chabad is here for you and ready to help.

Many parents have been reaching out with questions about transferring their children from public school to Jewish schools. In response, Chabad has developed a personalized placement system to guide families through the process. Using the information shared with us, we help match each child with school options that are carefully selected based on location, educational background, and family preferences. Our goal is to help each child enter a Jewish school setting where they can grow socially, academically, and in their Jewish identity.

We also had the honor of meeting with the incredible volunteers of the Released Time program, which gives public school children a weekly hour of Jewish learning. Together, we discussed how to better support families who want to transfer their children from public school to Jewish schools.

Need help transferring your child? Contact Chabad or fill out this form to begin the Yeshiva placement process.

A Year of Growth: Teen Program at Forest Hills High School

Wednesday mornings at Forest Hills High School come alive during the fifth period, when Jewish students gather for pizza, connection, and meaningful Jewish activities.

The Teen Program at Forest Hills High School brings together students from all backgrounds, creating a space for connection, growth, and Jewish pride right in the heart of a public school. From learning how to clean vegetables to check for bugs, to playing trivia games and exploring Jewish traditions, every session is both meaningful and memorable.

And as the school year came to a close, I visited Hofstra University to wish a heartfelt mazal tov to the graduating seniors from Forest Hills High School.

I’m so proud of everything they've accomplished, and I wish them success and a bright future ahead!

Recently, Miriam celebrated her Bat Mitzvah at the Chabad Center. During the celebration, she shared a heartfelt and inspiring message:

"Thank you for coming to my Bat Mitzvah.

This past year has been full of amazing surprises. It all started when I joined Chabad Hebrew School. I learned a lot from my teacher and made some great friends.

One of the highlights was a Shabbaton trip to Crown Heights that Chabad Hebrew School arranged for us. That weekend was the first time I fully experienced Shabbat. We stayed in a Jewish home, ate a Shabbat dinner, prayed in the synagogue, and had a fun time with friends.

That weekend made a big difference in my life. When I came home, I decided to transfer to a Jewish school, start keeping Shabbat, and ask people around me to call me by my Jewish name.

I even asked for another Shabbaton and I was invited back for another Shabbat in Crown Heights by myself.

So thank you to my teacher and to Chabad Hebrew School for changing my life in the most positive way. I hope that my story can inspire you to also grow more in Judaism and strengthen our connection to Hashem."

A spontaneous loud applause followed her speech by all the participants.

Warm regards and Moshiach now,

Rabbi Yaakov Horvitz
