At the grand Lag Baomer celebration in Queens, Rabbi Yaakov Horvitz spoke to the children about the meaning and significance of the special day. During the program, he asked the kids to raise their hands if they attended a Jewish school, and then if they attended public school.

Suddenly, one young boy ran up to the stage with an announcement:

“Rabbi, right now I am in public school, but very soon I am changing to a Jewish school!”

The crowd immediately burst into spontaneous applause — a powerful moment that captured the impact and inspiration of the Lag Baomer event.

Rebbe Video

A Powerful Message of Unity, Love & Shabbat

In a rare and meaningful gesture, the President of the United States recently issued a proclamation encouraging the proper observance of Shabbat among the Jewish people. As we know, nothing happens by coincidence.

This special Shabbat leads into Rosh Chodesh Sivan — the time when the Jewish people began preparing to receive the Torah at Mount Sinai. The Lubavitcher Rebbe often emphasizes the importance of increasing in gatherings of love and unity during this time, reflecting the incredible unity the Jewish people displayed as they stood together “as one person with one heart” before receiving the Torah.

We invite you to watch this short and inspiring video of the Rebbe speaking about the power of Ahavat Yisrael — love for a fellow Jew — and how true growth comes not through criticism or negativity, but through encouragement, positivity, and genuine care for one another.

Wishing you a beautiful and meaningful Shabbat.
